I have been asked this question several times..My response is YES there is a difference..Well..to me there is.
I stockpile items that I use frequently, catch a great sale on and will use…usually atleast 2-4 mths worth of products is what I aim for on certain items.
I admit my biggest obsession is with paper towels..but nothing like the people you may of seen on the extreme couponing show..Many of those episodes I believe those people are hoarders!
When you find a great sale and have a coupon or several coupons on items you use alot of..it is best to buy atleast 2 mths worth..WHEN you are able…As sales run in cycles..Nothing worse than having to pay $2.29 for dish detergent you could of bought for .49..I start doing the math in my head…that is 4 bottles worth w/ tax!
If there are items you can obtain free with coupons/sales by all means..get them and donate them!
I plan my shopping trips carefully..typically save anywhere for 30-60%..I spend sometimes up to 2 hours planning big trips..and then I figure out how much I saved..I guarantee you when you see that you are making $15-20 an hr or more cutting/organizing and planning your trips.. you will feel pretty good
Start out small if you find it overwhelming..Every dollar saved is terrific!Don’t panic if you miss a sale, price match when you can..and don’t buy too much of anything with expiration dates..Buy what you will safely use in the allotted timeframe!
